'Research has found that 8% of children have a food allergy, that\'s 1/13 or 2 in every classroom. The top 8 food allergies include peanut, tree nuts, milk, egg, shellfish, finfish, soy, and wheat, which make up 90% of food allergies. 40% of these children also have more than one food allergy. Additionally, Dr. David Stukus explains the food allergy protection plan: Introduce foods early between 4-6 months of age. Experts advocate diversifying a baby\'s diet to include the most commonly allergenic foods. Feed common allergens multiple times per week through infancy and early childhood.'See also:
