'What to do with jars after canning'

'#canning #canningmeat #shedwarscanning so you\'ve canned a bunch of jars....now what do you do? here is the step by step process I\'ve been doing for years...did I miss anything? 1) let jars sit out overnight 2) remove rings and check for a tight seal 3) wash jars and tops (i neglected to do this once with tuna fish...oh my) 4) label the jar lids with contents and the date canned 5) store in a cool dark place without large swings of temp and humidity, get creative (maybe under a bed or behind a dresser of drawers. 6) clean the inside of the canner 7) clean the rings, dry by hand and add a little bit of oil prior to storage. If the rings are very rusty you can try to save them...here is a video on that topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RqZta7hE6Q source info for no longer needing to heat food for 10 minutes prior to eating if you are CONFIDENT that your canning was done correctly: https://digitalcommons.usu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1337&context=extension_histall'
