'Today Chris chats with Rico, the owner of Smokehouse Sandwich Co. here in beautiful Richmond BC.  Rico was practically raised in the kitchen, taking in all the wonder brought about by his grandmother\'s cooking. Every flavour and every dish had its own unique narrative. These old family recipes and traditional techniques eventually shaped Rico\'s expression as he discovered the art of storytelling through food.   Growing up in the Philippines immersed Rico in traditional farm-to-table customs. People lived off the land, harvesting their own vegetables and raising their own livestock. These formative experiences inspired him to source only the freshest ingredients for his culinary creations, and strive towards a farm-to-table model for Smokehouse Sandwich.   ​ From the in-house smoked meats with their creative spice rubs,  to their house made dressings and bright fresh vegetables from local farms, each Smokehouse sandwich is simple, yet carries a unique story.
