'There are women throughout the district who are entrepreneurs in trades they have either taught themselves or learned at home. It’s important to add skills training to improve their livelihoods. When TIDE found out that the Social Security Board had prepared a week long training session for women at the Toledo Community Community College, the organization found some of these budding business women who are in the culinary trade. With funding from the Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT), TIDE invested community development project funds to invite participants to take part in the course. They successfully completed the food preparation and one participant also completed the cake decoration training sessions. They intend to use what they’ve learned in their small business ventures. TIDE happily congratulates the women from Punta Gorda, Punta Negra and Monkey River who participated and received their certificates this Friday, August 6th. 1. Marlyn Trapp - Cake Decorating - PG 2.
