'Croatian Food: Cooking Octopus Peka'

04:32 Apr 9, 2021
'Peka, also called ispod peke, is a traditional Croatian dish from the Dalmatia region. It consists of chicken, lamb, veal, or octopus as the main ingredient, with potatoes and vegetables cooked under a clay or iron lid, in an open fireplace. Hot coals are placed over the lid, and the food is left to cook slowly until the meat is tender. We don\'t have a clay bell or an open fireplace, but we do crave Peka! So we decided to prepare Octopus Peka (hobotnica ispod peke) with modified techniques.
